In business it really is all about packaging

It’s not enough to just be good at what you do. You must be able to package your services in a way that potential clients see the value… brand yourself so you stand out… and market your services so you can attract the clients you want to work with.

There are many aspects to packaging a business, including…

How you package yourself…

As a service professional you need to package yourself so you stand out from everyone else who does what you do. That’s called branding. There’s a lot of talk about branding these days. It seems to be the current buzzword. Unfortunately, many of those talking about and teaching branding aren’t branding experts. I studied marketing and branding in college and I’ve been doing it for over 25 years. It’s important if you’re going to learn how to brand yourself properly that you work with someone who truly understands what branding is (e.g. it’s NOT your logo) and can teach you how to develop your own unique and powerful brand.

How to package your business…

This is how you design a business that can get you to your goals doing what you love, in the amount of time you want to spend. It’s how you thoughtfully design your business so it works for you and you enjoy it and it’s profitable. Most folks just tend to open up shop and start coaching or consulting (or offering whatever services they provide) without giving much though to how they’re going to set up their business so it actually works for them.

How you package your services…

Packaging your services includes answering questions such as “should I offer one-on-on coaching, a one-month program, a three-month program, a six- or 12-month program, group programs, an online course or training program, information products, a membership program, a mastermind group, or some combination of these?” Learning how to package your services makes it easier to sell them, it helps you serve your clients better, and it helps you get to your financial goals faster.

How you package your marketing…

First, it’s about knowing what to say in your marketing… that’s called your marketing message and if you don’t have it right, your marketing will fall on deaf ears and it won’t succeed at it’s primary purpose: bringing you clients. Packaging your marketing is also about knowing what marketing activities are right for you and your business, and will help you achieve your goals. How much marketing? What type of marketing? How often? How much money to spend? Knowing how to package your marketing answers ALL of these questions.

Looking for Testimonials?

I don’t really believe in testimonials. Why? Because I feel that more often than not, they don’t represent the typical results the average person can expect to achieve. Testimonials “cherry-pick” only the biggest success stories, and then they require a disclaimer that says “results not typical” (just think about all the infomercials you’ve seen with that disclaimer).  That’s why the FTC cracked down on them in 2009. So, it’s not that I don’t have happy and successful clients, I have lots of them, BUT you won’t find testimonials here.

Instead, I invite you to review my Client References and even contact them and talk to them about they’re experience with my programs and working with me. You’ll find a list of my references here.

I look forward to helping you package yourself and your business more effectively so you enjoy your business more, and it becomes more successful and profitable.
